Frequently Asked Questions

We offer full-chain optical design services including concept development, ray-tracing simulation, tolerance analysis, stray light analysis, thermal & structural analysis, prototyping support, and DFM (design for manufacturing) optimization. We use industry-standard tools including Zemax, Code V, and LightTools.

Our process typically follows these stages: 1) Requirements review & feasibility study, 2) Concept design & initial simulation, 3) Detailed design optimization & tolerance analysis, 4) Prototype fabrication & testing, 5) Design refinement based on test results, 6) Final design release for production. We work iteratively with your team throughout.

We design imaging systems, illumination systems, laser optics, spectrometers, endoscope optics, projection lenses, beam shaping systems, and custom lens assemblies. We work across UV, visible, NIR, SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR wavelength ranges.

Yes, tolerance analysis is a core part of our design service. We perform detailed tolerance studies balancing performance with manufacturing cost. We provide tolerance budgets for all parameters including surface accuracy, centration, thickness, material homogeneity, and coating tolerances, with predicted performance yield.

Absolutely. Because we also manufacture in-house, our designers understand real-world production constraints. We optimize every design to achieve your performance targets while staying within achievable tolerances and reasonable cost. This DFM approach reduces prototype iterations and ensures smooth transition to production.
